A Message from Lazarus

Lazarus Fish and Family

My name is Lazarus Fish and my wife is Acha.  We have four children: Sarah (13 years old), Paul (10), Rachel (6) and Elizabeth (3).  We are from the Lisu tribe which lives in northern Myanmar (Burma).

My father was one of the first converts among the Lisu people.  He was converted by the Morse family and was among the first Lisu group trained by them. He worked with the missionaries for more than ten years and passed away when I was about six years old.  Before he died, he asked my mother to promise him that she would raise me to be a missionary.  My mother said that she promised him this.  But when I grew up, I just became a school teacher and taught at the school for nine years (1977-86).

In 1986, I resigned from my teaching career, joined a Bible College in Yangon, and studied there for five years in the Bachelor of Theology program.  During my study at the college, I ministered at Tamwe Christian Church in Yangon. After graduation in 1992, I taught at Eastern Bible Institute until 1994.
In August 1994, I arrived in the United States and studied at Lincoln Christian Seminary for four years in the Master of Divinity program. I graduated in May 1998 and God continued to prepare the way, by making possible for me to study His Word at Asbury Theological Seminary to obtain a  Doctor of Missiology, with a major in cultural anthropology.  In July 2002 we returned to Myanmar where we continue to serve Him through the Myanmar Agape Christian Mission.

This site will explain our plan for future ministry in Myanmar. There are two main points: (1) the Seminary project and (2) other mission projects.
Dear brothers and sisters, we would like to ask you to pray for us and partner with us in the ministry to Southeast Asia. We thank you so much for giving us an opportunity to share with you the vision we have for our future ministry.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. - John 3:16
